So from the railway I could always see this cool-looking building off in the distance and finally i decided to visit...the Arsenal...

Nowadays it serves as the Austrian Military History museum....but back in the day it did serve as an arsenal....

This is the hall with all of the 'old war heroes', i.e. generals who served/saved Austria...

Pretty though....

Too bad it's all about glorifying war... :(

This is Wallenstein, aka Catholic military general who fought the Protestants and won BIG TIME during the 30 years' war...I didn't know that he got so powerful that some supporters of the Austrian monarchy killed him :( Can't truss it!

Early 'Gatling' gun....

Turkish watch made in...GERMANY! LOL...

Again, pretty....

It's almost like a church....

I like this painting...shows war back then for what it was...one big muddy/bloody mess!

And the stillness afterwards....and the pointlessness of it all.....

Didn't know that 'Radetzky's March' had a true inspiration....that is Radetzky, Austrian general who fought and won a lot in Italy...

Hall of Heroes again...interesting that they did all the war planning, but probably didn't do a whole lot of the fighting...

Modern...officially Austria is 'neutral'...like Switzerland....

Poster from WWI showing prosthetics....I never knew what the true history of the term 'basket case' was until a high school teacher told us it literally was a veteran of WWI who had to be carried around in a basket due to loss of arms and legs....

Wasn't sure what this was about....it was in their UN section (Austria takes part in UN missions)...this guy is chained....maybe it is a punishment....

Clearning mines....UGH! What a job!
This was an Austrian WWI submarine that they found like 80 years after it went down...

It was fun to watch 'The Third Man' cuz this jeep literally went all over Vienna with a Soviet, French, sometimes English and American soldier in it....
'Hate and destroy our enemies' - Jewry, Bolshevisim, capitalism....
Guide/Leader we belong to you....UGH!

Probably the 'best'/most interesting part of the museum....this is THE car that Franz Ferdinand and his wife was driving in when they were shot in Sarajevo, i.e. 'the catalyst' to WWI....
This is the couch that the died on, with his jacket that he was wearing....

Another view of the car....in the end it's crazy that this incident would end up costing the lives of a generation...
Where that 'white hole' is, that is where the bullet went that killed his wife...

Where that 'arrow' is, that is where the bullet hit him, in the neck....
