Cape Town - Hermanus

So Tracy took me to Hermanus, land o' whales...and we no sooner stepped out of the car when we saw a mom and baby near the cliff....

Here's a bit of a close-up....thanks goes to Tracy with her MUCH better camera than mine, in order to capture details of such amazing moments such as....

BAM!! Awesome or what?!

These (according to info boards) are Southern Right Whales....they are here to have their babies, then they'll return to Antarctica during the summer....

ZOOM IN! One more look....

Brave (stupid?) people heading out in kayaks near the whales....hmm....isn't there that part in Moby Dick when he....

Here is Tracy communing with a local Dassie aka glorified rodent ;)

Oh beautiful Hermanus....apparently earlier in whale season the WHOLE bay is FULL of whales! How amazing....

Thankfully those dark clouds stayed away for a long while...

This is down the coast a bit looking back at Hermanus....

Preh-eee as the Brits would say....

Tracy found this 'hole in the sky' when we pulled off along the road....

Intriguing, no?

Mucho prettyo or something like that...

Thanks Tracy for the trip and for taking me to Hermanus! ;)

We then went to the area around Fish Hoek....here is some fish drying for you....

The pier....

Local fisherman....

Looking back....

Tracy and Tanya insisted that I go to Boulders and see the endangered African penguins....

Here I am trying to 'fit in' with the locals...

You've been warned! ;)

The eye looks a bit demonic, no? Hmm...

Here are....'nests' where they lay their eggs....

But in the end we were both too cheap to pay to get in to see the whole big colony LOL! So this sufficed....hola pinguinos!

Beautiful rainbow off in the distance....

Thanks BIG time Tracy for taking me around, very memorable! Dankie!
